Position Summary: Mechanical Integrity Engineer Intern 2025Summer Internship Program Location: Nashua, NH Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM's globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer Intern to join our team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH. RESPONSIBILITIES: This role supports the Mechanical Integrity group. Job functions will include assisting in performing material analysis for the usage of next generation interconnects. Aid in the mechanical testing of electrical connectors and components, processing and analysis of testing results, and assistance in the development of fixtures used in testing. What you'll do: Gain Experience Support the product design effort by conducting material analysis (DSC, TGA, mechanical testing, microscopy, cross section) Assist in the development and execution of test plans for the validation of new components for next generation interconnects Support the R&D extrusion trials in the pilot scale line Machining and fixture design Work closely with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel Supporting the development and validation of product prototypes with flow simulations Interfacing with different engineering disciplines in the design and manufacturing process of interconnect products QUALIFICATIONS: A good candidate should be at least a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or Materials Engineering programs. Knowledge of thermoplastics extrusion. Wire & Cable extrusion experience is a plus Knowledge of thermoplastic injection molding Proficiency in Pro-E or Solidworks Experience with plastics analytics testing Experience with Moldflow or Moldex3D desirable Experience with machining and fixture design are a plus Ability to communicate with technical colleagues Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
