Accounting Summer Intern

Location: Troy, MI FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary: LG Energy Solution Michigan is seeking a highly motivated Accounting (ICFR) Summer Intern to support the financial compliance and internal control processes across North American entities. This internship offers hands-on experience in key accounting functions such as internal controls, financial reporting, and risk assessment. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams and gain valuable exposure to corporate accounting and compliance practices. Primary Responsibilities: Assist in developing and documenting internal controls, including flowcharts and risk control matrices (RCM). Support the execution of control testing, including data collection and sample review. Help conduct operational control assessments to ensure effectiveness and compliance. Collaborate with team members to identify and document potential financial risks. Assist in the monthly financial close process, reviewing key accounts and financial statements. Work on special projects as assigned to enhance accounting and finance functions. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Basic understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
