Summer Intern, Accounts Payable

Description About the Internship This internship gives students an opportunity to get hands on experience working in the Accounts Payable Division of the Comptroller’s Department. The candidate will work hand-in-hand with various staff members learning and enhancing their skills. The internship also gives the candidate a glimpse into a highly operational unit and hybrid work life. Responsibilities Tasks related to: Operating expenses and variance monitoring. City Payments and other schedule preparation. Invoice & payments analysis and the monthly closing process. Business Travel & SAP Travel Management Travel registration payments and associated expenses in preparation for Payroll and month end-closing process. Citi Payment Exchange Project and associated enrollment of existing and new vendors for ACH Payments. Electronic Invoicing Project Agency Vendor Management Project including continued cleanup of the Vendor Master files. GR-IR, SE and PR Report analyses and other divisional assignments Minimum Qualifications Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester Major in Accounting, Finance, or related field Desired Qualifications Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, etc.) Accounting knowledge and Business machine usage (scanner, fax, telephone, copy machine) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
