The Ambassador Housing Village (AHV) is a six-acre property with dorm-style rooms that serves as the home away from home for more than 600 employees on an annual basis, who come from across the United States and from around the globe to work at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA! These residents are a diverse group of employees from interns to lifeguards to Entertainment performers and many other critical park jobs! The AHV Team performs a diverse set of tasks to support the operation of the Ambassador Housing Village and service the needs of its residents.
Note - The Ambassador Housing Village is an operation of the Busch Gardens Williamsburg/Water County USA Human Resources Department.
What you get to do:
As the Housing Maintenance Technician at the Ambassador Housing Village you will be tasked with duties that include plumbing repairs, carpentry work, HVAC, electrical, and painting. You will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and general condition of the property to ensure that our Ambassador Residents have the best quality residential experience possible by ensuring all amenities are in proper, working order. You will:
* Complete all preventative maintenance, cleaning, prepping, and servicing equipment.
* Maintenance and repair requests for plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Painting and Carpentry.
* Renovation projects; repairing or replacing equipment or structures.
* complete tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines.
* Maintain department standards of performance in terms of attendance, performance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements.
* Complete all required documentation.
* Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
* Performing inventory on equipment and supplies
* Cooperate with contractors and General Services department.
* Perform other miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* High school diploma or equivalent
* EPA Universal level certification
* Valid Driver's License
* Ability to meet company driving guidelines.
* Knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, and Carpentry
* Knowledgeable in the reading of and working from blueprints and/or drawings.
* At least two of years of practical maintenance experience
* Previous maintenance experience in a hotel or housing complex preferred
Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
* Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift ability to climb/ascend heights, if needed.
* Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp, and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
* Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
* Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
* Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on the needs of the AHV, including weekends and holidays.
* Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
