POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Manager will specifically oversee data quality management for the alumni database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all alumni records. This position will guide a team of data coordinators responsible for supporting the organization's data needs within the Salesforce | ascend platform. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, complete, and reliable for decision-making processes, and will consult and collaborate with the Director of Data & Process Optimization as well as other stakeholders who provide and utilize data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
TEAM LEADERSHIP
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Experience with Salesforce | ascend or similar CRM platform is a plus. Proven experience in data management, preferably in a nonprofit, higher education, or similar setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Supervise and coach a team of data coordinators, ensuring adherence to data management processes, assigning tasks, balancing workloads, and providing guidance while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Work closely with theDirector of Data & Process Optimization and relevant data stakeholders on data cleanup and integrity initiatives.
- Collaborates with Operations team to implement data standards, policies, and procedures to maintain data integrity.
- Regularly assesses data for accuracy and consistency, identifying and correcting data errors or inconsistencies.
- Identify opportunities for improving data quality, such as resolving duplicate records or updating field types across multiple objects. Present your plans to stakeholders and manage these projects with precision.
- Bring together data from external sources on both scheduled and ad-hoc basis. Manage the transformation of this data to align with our standards, ensuring seamless updates to the CRM.
- Collaborate with the Director of Data & Process Optimization to identify and implement strategies and tools for efficient data management. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data processing workflows.
- Identify areas for improvement in data processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead efforts to standardize data formats and procedures.
- Generate, update, and maintain comprehensive work instructions for data entry processes. Ensure that all documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to relevant team members.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with campus partners, including the REA, to facilitate the collection and integration of information beneficial to the alumni database.
- Act as a liaison between the Alumni Association & Foundation and other university departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the data team and other departments within the organization.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Experience with Salesforce | ascend or similar CRM platform is a plus. Proven experience in data management, preferably in a nonprofit, higher education, or similar setting.

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with data import tools and process optimization strategies is a plus.
