Job Description

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Data Science/R&D Intern at Research & Development Center located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This is a 10-week internship (June 2 - August 8, 2024) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Position Overview:

Candidate will assist with and own projects relevant to research and design (R&D). Projects will consist of data acquisition, manipulation/cleaning, and analysis. Additionally, candidate will be expected to collaborate with other R&D labs and retain business acumen. Normal hours of work will be between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a data research project by collecting, manipulating, and analyzing relevant data; Apply useful data science methods to find key results
  • Attend team meetings to gain context and insight
  • Collaborate with necessary colleagues across organization to gain context and key knowledge for research project
  • Present research findings in final presentation
Required Skills:
  • Must be an Undergraduate rising junior or senior at an accredited college/university.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Coding experience (Python or R preferred)


Based Hourly Range: $20/hr. - $25/hr

Base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
