Responsibilities

This intern will work on a Business Agile team responsible for training curriculum build and instructional design.
* Design and develop engaging and effective learning materials for Life and Investment Planning Services (IPS), including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, and multimedia resources.
* Conduct needs assessments and analyze learning objectives to ensure alignment with organizational goals and learner needs.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
* Utilize instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create learner-centered experiences.
* Implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
* Stay current on industry trends and best practices in instructional design and corporate training.
* Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on instructional design principles and best practices.
* Maintain and update existing training materials to reflect changes in content or technology.
* Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on learning initiatives.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for:

  • Current college sophomores or juniors majoring in Psychology, Business Admin, Organizational Leadership, or other related fields
  • Students with strong leadership, teamwork, communication, customer focus, and data analytics experience
  • Preferred candidate will have instructional design work experience and high-level proficiency in Camtasia, Articulate 360, and Articulate Storyline. An individual who has created learning content in Simulated Learning Environments (SLE) would be highly desirable. A prime candidate has designed modernized training curriculum using instructional design models such as the ADDIE model, SAM, rapid prototyping, or others.

Experience using learning technologies and platforms including:

* Adobe Creative Cloud
* Articulate
* SharePoint
* MS Publisher and PowerPoint
* Camtasia/Video On Demand Tools
* Inkscape
* GIMP

An ideal candidate has knowledge of:

* Adult Learning Theory
* Instructional Design Technologies
* Performance consulting
* Design Thinking
* Industrial and Organizational (I/O)Psychology
* User Experience (UX)
* Creating metrics to measure learning effectiveness
* Project Management

Additional Desired Skills:

* Design and development of learning & performance solutions - modalities including digital performance support, e-learning, videos, job aids, facilitator and participant guides, infographics, role plays, case studies, simulations and Learning Management System (LMS)
* Instructional and course design
* Development of marketing materials and communications

Internship Program Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for the summer internship program, you must be a full-time student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate program throughout the duration of the internship.

What You Can Expect:

  • Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
  • Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
Pay: $30.00/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend! Hybrid Work Arrangement: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply. Hub Location(s): Bloomington, IL
