The Technology Support Analyst provides advanced IT support to identify and resolve hardware, software and application issues for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at Glendale Community College. OIT supports all academic and administrative technology across the GCC campus. This position works in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple projects and deadlines, providing advanced IT support to identify and resolve hardware, software and application issues for the entire college, effectively communicating with all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions
30% - Provides advanced IT support to identify and resolve hardware, software, application, personal device issues and acts as a liaison between customers, and other technical units. Helps to coordinate and provide advanced IT support services. Identifies, investigates, and resolves user problems with computer software and hardware. Delivers escalated IT support services. Responds and resolves escalated help desk tickets and troubleshoots technical issues. Assists customers by performing advanced analysis of various issues related to desktop computers, internet connectivity and the installation of hardware and software.
30% - Self-directed prioritizing and workload scheduling to achieve target outcomes and timelines. May serve as lead worker, assigning and monitoring the work of others. Provides oversight of student workers; trains and mentors less experienced staff. Manages whole or portions of IT projects and collaborates with respective groups. Coordinate and perform administrative functions for direct supervisor in support of team activities and functions. Works with sensitive and confidential information. Knowledge of and adherence to MCCCD & GCC IT policies and procedures.
20% Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to new and existing computer hardware and software systems. Ability to work on various device operating system, i.e., MS Windows, Apple MacOS, iOS, Chromebooks, and Android. Creates, monitors, and completes IT support logs and service desk tickets. Participate in the distribution and installation and updating of hardware across the GCC campus
10% - Provides technical or operational training. Assists in the planning, managing, and implementation of computer information systems and software. Modifies and updates processes, procedures, and standards. Researches industry standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies.
10% - Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field, and two years providing technology support work involving computer hardware, software and applications.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Two (2) or more years of experience working with computers, IT peripheral equipment and/or networking.
B. Experience with some or all of the following operating systems, MS Windows, MacOS, Linux, Chrome OS, iOS, and/or Android
C. Two (2) or more years of experience supporting MS Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, iOS, or Android OS
D. One (1) or more years of experience managing, implementing, or planning IT projects
E. Two (2) or more years of experience working with a support services ticketing system
F. Two (2) or more years of experience working in a customer focused environment
Special Working Conditions
- Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements
- Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
- Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
- May require numerous evenings or weekends
- May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
- May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
