An internship is a temporary position within Solventum. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment during the summer. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a chemistry summer intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Collaborating with scientists & engineers to assist in research and development, delivering high quality materials, processes, and analysis for Central R&D and Healthcare divisions.
- Executing prioritized laboratory tasks including materials synthesis, preparation, characterization, performance testing, and data collection
- Implementing best lab practices and synthetic techniques to prepare novel samples
- Thoroughly documenting and reporting synthetic schemes and results in both electronic and written format
- Contributing to the generation of intellectual property
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Completed a bachelor's degree (or anticipated completion by June 2025) or higher from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- Experience with chemistry, organic chemistry, or polymers course work
- Pursuing graduate school in the physical sciences
- Ability to work in-person daily at the Maplewood, MN site.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Previous internship experience in chemistry, organic chemistry, or polymers field.
- Experience working in a synthetic chemistry laboratory
- Experience with setting up laboratory experiments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including documentation of work

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.) after 90 days employment.
