This is a ten-week paid internship designed to expose college students to various activities in cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure. At an apprentice level of proficiency, interns are expected to work closely with experienced staff to assist with proactively managing infrastructure technologies and diagnosing and resolving reactive issues. Job shadowing IT Security, IT Data, IT Business Technology and IT Governance is expected to occur for a portion of the internship. The selected student will participate in provisioning, hardening, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of infrastructure technologies - including network, storage, servers, VMware, backup and replication across two data centers, Azure, and AWS. Additionally, the student will assist with diagnosing and resolving security and technical issues.

Qualifications

  • Course work or experience related to information security, system analysis, information technology/systems or business.

  • Enrolled in a four-year college, with a major in or related to information technology or business with freshman year of college completed.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to take direction from and work cooperatively with other team members.

  • Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.

  • Ability to think orderly, logically and analytically, and strong problem-solving skills. Resourcefulness and creativity in the execution of job tasks.

  • Experience with server operating systems, AWS or Azure, and basic scripting such as PowerShell are all a plus.
