Job Description

The Attorney Development and Recruitment Department handles all aspects of attorney development initiatives including first year associate orientation programs, mentoring, evaluations, compensation, department specific training, firm-wide training, diversity initiatives and general attorney policies and recruitment of summer associates, entry level and lateral lawyers.


Attorney Development and Recruitment Assistant:


Responsibilities:

Attorney Development & Training

  • Direct attorneys to resources within the Firm to help resolve concerns or issues and coordinate available resources to find solutions
  • Track department calendar of activities and identifying potential conflicts with other firm events
  • Manage meeting and program logistics including scheduling, securing meeting rooms, coordinating meeting room set-up and materials, and trouble-shooting
  • Help coordinate first year associate program and firm-wide training programs
  • Help coordinate pro bono and diversity initiatives and programs


Recruitment

  • Register the firm and organize logistics for interview programs and 1L events; which includes lining up attendees for such programs and prepare candidate materials.
  • Schedule interviews for law students and lateral attorneys.
  • Greet and escort candidates who interview at the Firm.
  • Assist with all aspects of the summer program, including event planning, training programs, gathering of evaluations, scheduling reviews and budget tracking.
  • Maintain applicant tracking database and recruitment spreadsheets as needed.


General

  • Assist department management with various projects.
  • Coordinate and attend attorney functions and serve as a visible part of the Firm culture.
  • Perform ongoing administrative tasks for the department such as: Update budget tracking spreadsheets and other department reports; Department correspondence; Maintain files; Data entry and database maintenance.
  • Handling new tasks, as needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; background with Survey Monkey
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and interact with all levels of staff
  • Professional demeanor
