Project Engineer Intern

Mission

The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program offers a hands-on learning journey for students eager to gain real-world experience in the field of electrical construction. As a Project Engineer Intern, you will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This 10-week summer program immerses you in the technical and management aspects of our work, helping you develop professionally and prepare for a career in project engineering.

About You

We are looking for detail-oriented, proactive students with a passion for engineering and construction. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are eager to contribute to project success.

Desired majors include: Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities and Internship Benefits

Over the course of our 10-week internship, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist in the design, planning, and execution of electrical construction projects.
• Work directly with a mentor in your field of study, applying your technical knowledge to solve real-world challenges.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections to ensure project progress and quality standards.
• Review engineering plans, specifications, and submittals, ensuring they align with project goals and requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and senior engineers to discuss project strategies and technical solutions.
• Build a lasting professional network through social events and team-building activities.
• Attend “Meet & Greets” with industry leaders to enhance your networking skills.
• Support project documentation and reporting, including tracking project timelines and costs.
• Deliver a formal presentation on your summer project, showcasing your technical knowledge and contributions to project outcomes.

The Project Engineer Intern will be supervised by one of our Project Managers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)

• Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (Beginning May 27 to August 1).
• Currently enrolled in a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2027.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
• Exceptional technical skills demonstrated through coursework, projects, or engineering internships.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD or similar design tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, as demonstrated through leadership roles in student organizations or project teams.
• Interest in electrical construction and project management.

Location

Must live in Fresno area or within a reasonable commute.

Pay Range: $16.50 per hour to $20.00 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
