The Opportunity

With expertise in influenza science, our team works on the latest research, pioneering technologies in influenza vaccines. We continue to explore novel concepts for longer term transformational approaches to influenza protection. We operate as one integrated global research and development organization, drawing together expert staff from different countries to collaborate with us.

Together, we're working to protect communities from seasonal influenza and global pandemic threats.

As the Scientific associate II in Biochemistry group, you will work with senior scientist to develop the recombinant protein vaccine for many infectious diseases.

You will be responsible for recombinant protein production using mammalian cell culture and support the recombinant protein purification to develop the protein vaccine with high quality. You will also work with project leads to support new vaccine development.

The Role

• Supports bench lab work and supports the study design to facilitate the recombinant protein vaccine production

• Will take the primary responsibility for all aspects of mammalian cell culture to meet the demands of multiple projects within Biochemistry group

• Supports the stable CHO cell line development

• Supports the recombinant protein vaccine purification

• Performs the basic laboratory protocols, including data analysis

• Makes technical, strategic contributions to development project teams

• Works collaboratively to develop experimental protocols in protein biochemistry to support process improvements

• Works with others within and across departments

• Presents data in the context of the project at multi-function meetings

• Maintains functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field plus 4 years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience; or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related field plus over 2 years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience

• Minimum 4 years’ laboratory experience with training in a relevant technical discipline e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.

• Expertise in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique

• Expertise in protein purification equipment, e.g., AKTA system

• Expertise in cellular techniques (maintaining cell culture and transfection

• Experience in biophysical and biochemical assays

• Demonstrate time and resource management and teamwork
