Black Hills State University is seeking applicants to fill an opening for a BOR Human Resources Generalist I.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, new employee onboarding processing, ensuring completion of necessary paperwork, entering and updating employee information into the HRIS, assisting with postings for open positions, data entry, assisting with projects, payroll and compliance tracking, and other HR administration tasks. This position is located at the front desk of the HR office and is responsible for customer service via phone, email or in-person including answering questions related to benefits, compensation, policies, processes and systems, while referring to other personnel or departments as needed.
This position requires the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality, communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, be detail oriented, and meet deadlines with shifting priorities and continuous interruptions. This position requires the ability to have regular and reliable attendance and to be proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate must be able to quickly learn and research applicable procedures, policies, laws and statutes, and be able to exercise judgement accordingly. Experience in human resources and with HRIS applications is preferred but not required.
