Job Description

La Scuola d'Italia Galileo Galilei is hiring for the role of Educational Coordinator and Educator (ECE), which is responsible for educating students that are enrolled in the organization’s early learning, after school and summer camp programs and designing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and revising the organization’s curriculum and educational programs.



The primary duties are:

• Teaching students various subject material, concepts, and skills through the use of a wide array of teaching modalities that are in accordance with the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches and the organization’s curriculum;

• Creating lesson plans to teach students subjects, such as reading, writing, science, and math;

• Teaching students how to interact with others and how to behave in various settings and groups;

• Observing students and evaluating their progress, development, socialization, and acquisition of knowledge and skills;

• Working with students individually to help them overcome specific learning challenges;

• Supervising children at all times and identifying any potential hazards to ensure the health and safety of our students;• Developing, implementing, reviewing, and revising the curriculum for the educational programs and the teaching methodologies for teachers;

• Communicating and meeting with students’ parents and guardians and other third-party stakeholders, such as developmental support staff, therapists, etc., regarding students’ education, development, behavior, and socialization;

• Assisting teachers and teacher aides with the planning, implementation, and assessment of their lessons, activities, assessments, and recordkeeping;

• Assessing and monitoring students’ educational and development objectives and progress;

• Identifying, reviewing, and selecting educational materials for teachers and students;

• Facilitating and delivering presentations at meetings with teachers and teacher aides with respect to educational suggestions, pointers, methods, and tactics;• Assisting the Executive Director, the Director, and the Primary Educational Coordinator with training, coaching, observing, and monitoring teachers and staff as well as evaluating and improving the organizations’ curriculum, teaching methodologies, and educational programming; and

• Ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable requirements for state licensure



ECE will work with early childhood education, preschool, and pre-K (ages 2-5) education levels in accordance with standards & regulations set by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in education, pedagogy, childhood development, childhood learning, or a related field, and at least 24 months of relevant experience.
