Bridge Builders Specialist 2024-2025

BRIDGES is seeking four Full-time AmeriCorps members (1705 hours of service required) to serve as a part of our year round Bridge Builders AmeriCorps team. The Bridge Builders program has multiple ways it engages youth through programming. From workshops, retreat days and deep dive training to school and community partners serving youth in 6th - 12th grade to our year-long leadership program that serves 800+ youth in 7th - 12th grade with diversity and leadership training, community actions and elective learning opportunities. Member benefits include: - Receive a stipend of $33,000 divided into 27 bi-weekly pay periods. - Qualify for the Segal Education Award, up to $7,395.00, upon successful completion of service - Option to enroll in healthcare coverage (medical/vision/dental) provided by BRIDGES during service term. - Qualify for student loan forbearance throughout their service term. - Become trained experiential educators. - Professional training within youth development, youth/adult equity, and leadership development. - CPR/First Aid training and certification, Belay Certification, and Stewards of Children training and certification Service Members serve primarily in person with occasional teleservice (virtual) hours. The primary service location site is The Jim Boyd BRIDGES Center located at 477 N Fifth St Memphis, TN 38105. It features a youth action center, state of the art indoor/outdoor rock climbing wall, indoor high ropes course and serves as a model for sustainable environmental design and experiential learning spaces. All members are expected to prioritize and be available for scheduling as follows: School days and afterschool (Monday - Friday between 7 am - 8 pm) Weekends (Saturdays between 8 am - 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm - 7 pm). Intensive summer programming occurs May - July for summer leadership conferences. Hours vary but normally occur Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Member Duties : 1. Provide the following support as needed during the school year (August - May): site coordination, facilitate and/or co-facilitate groups youth through experiential learning activities and discussions as a part of Bridge Builders youth programs focused on social and emotional learning skills, leadership, community and justice (both virtually and in-person). 2. During the summer, mentor summer members and assist as needed with workshop and retreat groups. 3. Assist the Bridge Builders and AmeriCorps Outreach team with program level recruitment and storytelling. 4. Support scheduling and follow up for workshops and retreats with youth serving organizations and schools (members will receive training in recruitment and scheduling processes). 5. Use the BRIDGES web-based participant and project management systems. 6. Assist with entering data entry.
