As a leading cleantech developer, Fervo is dedicated to driving the transformation of the renewable energy industry. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student to join our team as a Drilling Intern. This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to assist with projects focused on improving drilling time and cost performance, evaluating new technology opportunities, and directly impacting the delivery of Fervo's Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) objectives. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our Drilling function and will include tasks such as drill string technical and commercial analysis, drilling fluid evaluation, and solids control efficiency studies.
In this position, you will work on diverse projects that require adaptability and a multi-faceted skillset. You will support the Drilling team by effectively presenting and visualizing complex engineering concepts, and by providing clear and concise written and verbal communication. Requirements
Responsibilities
- Support in building technical evaluations related to drill string and drilling fluids design
- Perform economic analyses of new and existing technologies to guide implementation decisions
- Evaluate commercial proposals for new and existing technologies that enable drilling performance improvement and cost reduction
- Collaborate with suppliers to investigate drilling solutions
Qualifications
- Junior or Senior actively enrolled in an undergraduate program; Preferred majors: Engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts/proficiency to evaluate and summarize technical and commercial data
- Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data visualization tools is a plus
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude, capable of planning, pivoting, and executing tasks independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities
