Job Description
General Statement of Duties
Oversees the work of a group of laborers and equipment operators in the construction, maintenance, installation and/or repair of County property and facilities; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
- Supervises a staff of Equipment Operators supporting all schools in furniture/and asset logistics (surplus and additions)
- Schedules and oversees furniture, athletic equipment, and other assets between schools. Keeps track of deadlines for all work.
- Operates equipment, trucks, etc. related to furniture/equipment moves.
- Keeps track of all paperwork related to asset control in accordance with Henrico County and Henrico County Public Schools requirements and regulations.
- Operates snow removal equipment when required.
- Must have a CDL Class A license.
- Must have the ability to work and supervise a crew.
- Must be able to schedule the completion of timed and dated work orders.
- Must be able to coordinate projects with Principals, School Staff and Central Office Staff.
- Performs overtime work and other duties as required.
- Position is an Essential Employee and must report for work at any time.
- Coordinates and works with other trades for scheduled and emergency work.
- Prepares reports of activities.
- Trains and instructs new employees.
- Inspects work in progress to assure conformance with instructions and county asset guidelines.
- Arranges for delivery of materials, supplies and equipment.
- Attends work daily and be engaged and on task.
- Self auditing practices and supervision/training of staff in safety awareness and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Complete of grade school and three (3) years of related work experience, including one (1) year in a crew leader or other supervisory capacity; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a valid commercial drivers license (Class A) issued by the State of Virginia required. Considerable knowledge of standard tools and practices used in logistics; knowledge of the requirements of basis hand tools and machinery. Physical condition that permits such activities as heavy lifting, bending, driving, standing and working under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions.
Additional Information
This is a 12 month (260 days) position with Facilities. Hours are 7:00 - 3:30 M-F (summer hours 7:00-5:00 M-TH); Minimum salary is $55,005.66 or based on promotion policy for internal candidates.
