Part time position Nanny Job in Lincolnwood

Location: North Park, Chicago
Rate: $20/hr
Schedule: Mornings, 3-4 hours per day, 3 days a week (exact schedule TBD), begins Mid-September

About the Position:
We are seeking a compassionate, fun-loving, and flexible nanny to care for our 4.5-year-old autistic son in our home during the mornings. The role involves engaging our son in various activities while Mom works remotely from home. Our household includes two dogs (one of which is a large dog) and a cat, but pet care is not required. Comfort around a large dog is essential.

Responsibilities:
Engage in activities such as playground and park visits, reading, and art
Prepare and serve a snack or lunch as needed
Assist with potty training needs (wiping and clothing)
COVID-19 Safety:

Our family follows strict COVID-19 safety protocols:

Masks are worn in all indoor public spaces and crowded outdoor areas.
We do not participate in indoor dining.
Dad works outside the home and uses public transit, always masked.
Mom works remotely from home and is considered high-risk.
Guests in our home must either wear a mask or follow specific protocols: masking in public for 5 days before the visit and providing two negative rapid tests, 24 hours apart.
The nanny must either adhere to our COVID-19 safety protocols or wear a mask at all times while in our home with our child. Transparency about symptoms, any risks taken, and potential exposures is required.

Requirements:
Neurodiversity affirming
Knowledge of gentle parenting practices
Familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus
Strong sense of fun and creativity
Willingness to be flexible with the child's needs
Comfortable around a large dog
Valid driver’s license is a plus but not required
Background check required
In-home camera monitoring in place

About Us:
We are a family of artists deeply involved with our son’s development and care. Our son, Alastair, is a gestalt language processor who often communicates through scripts, songs, and gestures. He is potty trained but requires some assistance. Mom will be home, working remotely from an in-home office. She will be available to offer support as needed.
